meet KK (she/they)

Queer California Psychotherapist

I may not be the therapist for you if you want someone to nod blankly at you while scribbling on a pad (no T no shade!). My style is very active and engaged and I bring clarity, humor, honesty and authenticity to our sessions. Therapy with me can be playful and fun, while also gently challenging to help you go deep and to create space for real transformation.  I come to our work with curiosity, humility, and no assumptions about what life has handed you. I show up unapologetically as myself — in my weird shirts, bowties, and fresh fades, (lol) — because genuine connection is key to healing and shared liberation.

I have experience working with people facing all kinds of life challenges and coming from many different gender and cultural identities. I work from a neuroaffirmative, health-at-every-size, sex-positive, and gender-affirming perspective. I work relationally, collaboratively, and at a human pace. Therapy with me is not about applying a perfect technique or performing expertise, but about building enough safety and trust for real change to happen over time.

My practice is independently owned and operated. I maintain a small practice so that I can offer depth, consistency, and real presence to the clients I work with. I provide private-pay, high-touch therapy — meaning sessions are personalized, responsive to your life and nervous system, and centered on building a steady, human relationship over time. This model allows me to show up fully, sustainably, and with care. Because I don’t work for insurance companies or corporate therapy platforms, you can trust that your data is private, your care is fully tailored to you, and your therapist is here to stay.

On a personal note

I hold an MA in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 15 years in tech and publishing — I’ve been a VP of Sales, a Director of Marketing, and held all sorts of product and sales roles that mostly involved spreadsheets, endless meetings, and convincing people to buy things they didn’t know they needed. And while I was successful, what I loved most was actually listening to people — hearing their stories, figuring out what mattered to them, and helping them get where they wanted to go. Turns out, that’s also kind of my true calling as a therapist.

My partner and I live in the East Bay with our two rescue greyhounds, Trixie and Katya, who keep life interesting and very messy. In my free time, you’ll find me dancing with wild abandon, drumming up a storm, writing music, or absolutely killing it (or at least trying) at karaoke.
